Sebastian Szemplinski, B.A., LL.B.
The principal and managing lawyer of the firm is Sebastian Szemplinski. Sebastian graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, and obtained his Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. He was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2003 and has been practicing law full-time since then.
Sebastian articled and practiced as an associate at a civil litigation firm serving major corporate clients. His litigation experience includes commercial and contractual disputes, particularly in relation to secured and unsecured creditors' remedies, fraud, and enforcement of judgments and court orders. He has also dealt with cases involving construction liens, shareholder rights, personal injury, and insurance disputes.
Sebastian has frequently appeared before judges in the Superior Court of Justice on motions, applications, and trials. He has also represented clients at administrative tribunals, mediations, discoveries, and in Small Claims Court.
In addition to litigation, Sebastian is also experienced in business law, commercial transactions, corporate matters, and estate planning. Having been involved in many different types of cases, Sebastian can help clients avoid problems before they happen, advise clients on managing their personal and business affairs with a view to minimizing future conflicts, and explore the most cost-effective options to achieve their goals.
Sebastian also supervised and taught two articling students during their bar admissions process, both of whom are now successful lawyers, and one of his former assistants is currently in law school.
